A classic 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT Coupé that was originally the property of Sir Elton John will be auctioned at the renowned Bonhams auction house at the end of the month.

According to the advert description in November 1972 the Dino was purchased by and registered to Elton Hercules John of Wentworth, Surrey. Apparently Elton, now Sir Elton, John gifted the car to his drummer, Nigel Olsson, as confirmed by a letter on file dated 15th June 1973 from John Reid, Sir Elton’s former manager.

One of only 498 Dino 246 GTs supplied to the UK in right-hand drive configuration, the car is powered by a 2.4 litre V6 engine and is finished in Rosso Chiaro with Nero vinyl interior trim, has electric windows and only 29,200 miles on the odometer from new.

The classic super car will be auctioned on the 30th November with a host of other high end cars including one of Michael Schumachers old F1 cars. It’s expected the car will sell in the region of £220,000 – 280,000.

For more info on the car see Bonhams official website.
