Toyota RND Concept turns out to be comic relief gag

Toyota RND Concept is not a car
Toyota RND Concept is not a car

Bad news today for car fans who got excited about a potentially new and fun Toyota on the horizon. The much hyped RND Concept has been revealed to be nothing more than a gag set up to raise funds for comic relief – with RND standing for Red Nose Day.
Toyota will be selling official 2015 red noses for vehicles and are available exclusively from Toyota Centres and Toyota’s official eBay store.

Its great news that Toyota are helping to raise funds for charity, it really is…
Though as a petrolhead I can’t help but feel slightly disappointed after the amount of speculation around this whole thing led many to believe an exciting car might actually come from their camp once again.
After the glory days and performance fuelled 90’s passed us by, we have had to endure the endless mundane eco-friendly A to B cars (with the GT86 being the only exception of course) of the noughties. Toyota tantalised our proverbial petrol soaked taste buds in more recent times with the GT86 and now fans are eagerly perched at the end of their seats waiting and wanting more of the same.
It’s almost cruel to play with our emotions in this way.
Give us a new and exciting range of sports cars that are reminiscent of the Celica, Supra and MR2 of days gone by.
And while I’m ranting here, (solely because Toyota has got one over on me) give Yamaha a call and produce a modern day equivalent of the mighty 3SGTE and the 1JZ.

OK, i’ll stop ranting now and mention that if you’re interested in a red nose for your car the price is just £5 per nose, with every penny going straight to Comic Relief’s grants programme.

They can be bought from here… stores.ebay.co.uk/ToyotaOfficialStore.
