Stefan Marjoram is a freelance Film-maker, photographer and artist who is currently working with the Bloodhound SSC Land Speed Record team.

He produced this video, which is a quick compilation of clips showing some of the rebuild process of the FIAT S76 land speed record car and it first firing in over 100 years.

The Fiat S76 was originally designed in 1910 and the epic rebuild of this remarkable car was carried out by its owner Duncan Pittaway. At 28.5 litres this was the biggest of the pre WW1 monsters (and the biggest car engine ever built).

Each cylinder in the engine displaces just over 7.1 litres, and there are four of them. Despite being designed over 100 years ago, it has relatively modern features – including overhead cam valve operation, multi-spark technology, four vales per cylinder and it is capable of producing 300bhp.

It was originally intended for this legendary car to be first started after its rebuild at this years Festival of Speed, however this wasn’t to be and the 104 year old car was first fired up again at the weekend.

The full film on this car will cover the history of this exciting period and tell the amazing story of its rebirth after 100 years.

Enjoy listening to this monsterous beast as it is cranked back to life.
*If you want to keep your hearing I’d advise not listening to this through ear phones.
