This hilarious build video comes from a Subaru WRX owner from Canada. After the car’s original muffler failed, he thought the best thing to do would be to build a new one from cardboard, duct tape and a wire coat hanger.
The most amazing thing about this experiment is that it actually seemed to work, albeit, briefly. The A-team-style silencer soon fails and becomes detached from the rest of the exhaust after heating up following a few spirited drive-by’s in the Scoobie.
After an initial failure the undeterred man further modifies the cardboard muffler and had a second try, with surprisingly successful results, if of course you ignore the fact the duct tape was starting to melt by the end.
