Japanese carmakers Honda have released a new interactive online film ahead of the hotly anticipated launch of their new Civic Type R in 2015.
The super slick piece entitled ‘the other side’ has a connected dual narrative that runs simultaneously. The first of which features the new eco-friendly Civic, that’s driven by man who’s picking up his kids, and ‘the other side’ – which is activated by pressing the R button on your keyboard – depicts the same man driving the performance fuelled Type R version of the Civic, in an action-packed police chase which seems to have taken style cues from Nicolas Winding Refn’s ‘Drive’.
Martin Moll, Honda Motor Europe’s Head of Marketing, says, “This campaign marks a very significant time for our brand. Just as our products are renowned for being innovative, our communications style will amplify this.”
