Hyundai has revealed the latest edition of the i20 Coupe – a new three-door variant that Hyundai hope will appeal to younger drivers.

It’s the first time Hyundai has created a three-door B-segment car that is significantly different from the five-door model.  Some fairly major differences have been made to differentiate the two. All three pillars have been altered, and support a lower sleeker roofline that is complimented by a rear spoiler.

Other styling changes include a newly designed hexagonal front grille that sits in a new front bumper. Bold wheel arches have been added which dominate the rear quarter of the Coupe and lead into a new rear bumper design creating a sportier presence. Despite its athletic appearance, Hyundai say the Coupe remains a practical car – with 336-litre boot space on offer.

To further differentiate the three-door model, Hyundai has introduced a unique Tangerine Orange exterior colour and a matching orange interior colour option for the Coupe – in addition to the existing New Generation i20 colour palette. It also features a new 17-inch alloy wheel design and new rear spoiler, among other aesthetic enhancements.

There will be four engines to choose from initially, including two petrol and two diesel powered units – power ranges from 84 PS to 100 PS.

A new 1.4-litre ‘Kappa’ petrol engine will be available from launch and a new 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine will also join the range later in 2015.
