Meet the world-famous JCB GT, a high performance digger that has officially been crowned the fastest digger on earth after reaching speeds of more than 70 miles an hour in Australia.
Developed as a showpiece of JCB’s advanced engineering, the JCB GT is a backhoe loader that JCB say is capable of reaching 100 mph. Built with a high-output V8 engine, it can be seen ripping down drag strips around the country.
The man behind the wheel during the record attempt is JCB’s expert driver who has been comically named ‘The DIG’ .
Watch how the JCB GT made the attempt in front of independent record officials at Bathurst, near to Sydney.
The attempt has since been verified by Guinness World Records at a speed of 72.58 mph (116.82km/h).
