Aston Martin Vulcan

Last week, you may remember we posted about the Aston Martin Vulcan – the latest hypercar to join the prestigious line-up of the British based premium carmaker.

Aston Martin has now released another teaser video of the car firing into action ahead of its world debut at the Geneva motor show.
Although it’s only a 30 second teaser, the latest video of the Aston Martin Vulcan is far more revealing than the previous effort, which showed nothing of the car itself.

The exact specification of the new Vulcan hypercar has yet to be released, however the latest preview video gives an insight into the kind of car this will be. The shadowy rear shot the hypercar shows off a large rear wing, a mean rear diffuser and side exhaust exits that bellows an aggressive and purposeful note. Rumours suggest the Aston Martin Vulcan will be a track focused hardcore hypercar made to rival the likes of McLaren’s P1 GTR and Ferrari’s FXXK.

Exact details on the car have yet to be confirmed but we do know that it will be officially unveiled next week at the Geneva motor show. Stay tuned for Mota Car Blogs coverage live from the event.

Porsche add to GT line-up with the Cayman GT4 http://motacarblog.com/2015/02/04/porsche-add-gt-line-cayman-gt4/ Wed, 04 Feb 2015 15:17:07 +0000 http://motacarblog.com/?p=2495 [...]]]> Porsche Cayman GT4
Porsche Cayman GT4 Front three quarters

Porsche have announced a new addition to its line of  high performance GT models with the new Cayman GT4, which Porshce say has been configured for “maximum driving dynamics.”

The Cayman GT4’s powerplant will be a mid-mounted, 3.8-litre flat-six engine with 385 hp produced at 7,400 rpm, which is derived from the 911 Carrera S engine. The power is transmitted by a six-speed manual gearbox with dynamic gearbox mounts – there is no PDK transmission option. This enables an acceleration time from zero to 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds, while the top speed is capped at 183 mph.

The body is lowered by 30 mm versus the standard Cayman, and features a purposefully-proportioned brake system. Furthermore, the chassis has been comprehensively fine-tuned with many components shared with the 911 GT3.

Differences in the new GT4 can be seen when comparing the previous cars in the Cayman range – the three distinctive inlet openings in the nose and a large fixed rear wing are part of an aerodynamic package which is designed to not only reduce lift but also generate downforce.

And if all of that doesn’t sound sporty enough for you, the Cayman GT4 can be equipped even more comprehensively for more sporting, or track day driving. Options include PCCB ceramic brakes, shell-backed seats made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP), a custom Sport Chrono Package with the unique Track Precision app, and a Club Sport Package.

On the inside of the Cayman GT4 rests sports seats, upholstered in a combination of leather and Alcantara and according to Porsche the new GT4 sports steering wheel will guarantee control and direct steering feedback.

The Cayman GT4 will go on sale in Porsche Centres in the UK today priced from £64,451, and will be premièred next month at the Geneva International Motor Show.
First customer deliveries are scheduled for this summer.

Audi have released a few sketches of the new TT ahead of its unveiling at the Geneva motor show.

They say this third generation model will “reinterpret the ideas” from the first TT, which was a huge milestone for Audi when it was initially released, in terms of both design and performance.

Image

It seems the car has undergone a complete re-design with the bonnet line reminiscent of their R8 and wider rear arches that give a more aggressive and sporty look. Audi say this car hasn’t just been changed on the outside, they have gone with a completely new chasis for the mk3 2015 TT.Image

In terms of power plants, I expect there to be a few 2.0L turbo variants and a 2.5 L turbo for the all action RS model.

Stay tuned for more when the car is unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in  early March.2015_audi_tt_5
